Ovation Awards Winner!
Best Bathroom Under $35K
We are thrilled and honoured to receive the 2013 Ovation Award for Best Bathroom (Under $35K) for the Ebb and Flow master ensuite we completed as part of a whole house renovation in West Vancouver. Kudos are due to Kin Cho, the designer and homeowner, as well as to Owen Crane at Gregson Crane Millwork for the excellent reclaimed wood cabinets.
We had a great time meeting and hanging out with other finalists at the Gala last week, including the lovely Allison Holden-Pope from One Seed Architecture and Interiors, who designed the other project we were shortlisted for.
Bravo and thanks to the fine people at the Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association for coordinating this event!

So, we are just a little (A LOT!) excited about this project we are working on in Delta.
When the homeowners bought this very out-dated Vancouver Special era duplex they had a vision to TRANSFORM this house from frump to wonderful. With lots of input from them, we designed and are now constructing a wholesale renovation of the interior and exterior. The finished house will have a very clean, contemporary aesthetic, with huge windows and loads of light.
With great foresight, the homeowners are planning to live in one unit through retirement, and rent the adjacent unit (perhaps to some lucky adult children?) to supplement their pension.

Well, after mulling the idea for years (yes: YEARS!), we finally picked up the camera to share innovative construction techniques, and other cool stuff related to green building, design + home building. We are juiced with the results so far and really proud of our crew + subs for stepping into the spotlight so effortlessly.

Ovation Awards Finalists announced today….
And GCB is on the list! We were shortlisted for both projects we submitted to the competition – yeehaw!
In the Best Bathroom under $35K category, is a super beautiful ensuite reno in West Vancouver. The ensuite, along with the rest of the whole house reno, was designed by homeowner Kin Cho and constructed by our excellent GCB team and partners, including Superior West Electric and Absolute Tile.
- Blend + Flow (Master Ensuite) is a Finalist in the Best Bath under $35K category.
In the Best Exterior Renovation category, one of our recent home addition projects in Mt. Pleasant was shortlisted. The bold and beautiful design is the creation of Allison Holden-Pope from One Seed Architecture, who nicknamed the project “The Updo House”. In addition to dramatically increasing the curb appeal, our team undertook all the interior work that turned out just a gorgeous as the exterior.
The Updo House is shortlisted in the Best Exterior category.
The awards will be announced on April 20. Wish us luck!
